    Program Overview - Why Should I Take this Program?
  • Why should I enroll?
    The Programming for Data Science Nanodegree program offers you the opportunity to learn the most important programming languages used by data scientists today. Get your start into the fascinating field of data science and learn Python, SQL, terminal, and git with the help of experienced instructors.
  • What jobs will this program prepare me for?
    While this is an introductory course that is not designed to prepare you for a specific job, after completing this program, you should be proficient in the programming skills used in data analysis and data science, including Python, SQL, terminal, and git.
  • How do I know if this program is right for me?
    If you are interested in taking the first step into the field of Data Science, this course is for you. This course will effectively teach you the foundational data science programming tools that all data scientists today use, including SQL, git, Python and specialized Python libraries including Numpy and Pandas. This course requires no prerequisite knowledge, so you can get started now. Having mastered these in demand tools you will be able to tackle real world data analysis problems.
  • Do you offer the opportunity to pause this Nanodegree Program and resume as per convenience?
    No. The fixed-term nature of this Nanodegree, and the need for maintaining a consistent and stable student body throughout doesn't allow for offering the option to pause your studies.
  • Is this program self-paced?
    No. The start and end dates of this Nanodegree are fixed, and you must complete all assigned projects by the end dates. However, projects may be submitted at any time during the Nanodegree, and individual project deadlines are recommendations, not requirements. There is some opportunity to work at your own pace but you should plan to follow our recommended timeline, as this will best enable you to keep pace with your peers, and complete the program on time.
  • What happens to my access to the content if I am unable to graduate within the term duration?
    You will lose access to the content of the Nanodegree Program if you fail to graduate within the provided term duration. Only students who are able to successfully graduate from the Program retain access to the contents of the Nanodegree.
  • Do I have access to Propel?
    Propel is the flagship Career Fair of Udacity in India. Only Advanced Job ready Nanodegree graduates have access to Propel. Through this initiative we connect our Nanodegree graduates to new-age technology companies and help them achieve their career goals. Since this program is not job-ready, you will be required to take up Advanced Nanodegrees to become job ready!

  • Do I need to apply? What are the admission criteria?
    No. This Nanodegree program accepts all applicants regardless of experience and specific background.
  • What are the prerequisites for enrollment?
    There are no prerequisites for enrolling aside from basic computer skills and English proficiency. You should feel comfortable performing basic operations on your computer like opening files and folders, opening applications, and copying & pasting.
    Tuition and Term of Program
  • How is this nanodegree program structured?

    The program is comprised of 1 (one) 3 (three)-month term with fixed start and end dates. Students must successfully complete all assigned projects by the end date for each term to graduate. The projects give you an opportunity to apply the skills you've learned in the lessons.

    Each project will be reviewed by the Udacity reviewer network and platform. Feedback will be provided and if you do not pass the project, you will be asked to resubmit the project until it passes.

  • How long is this Nanodegree program?

    Access to this Nanodegree program runs for the period noted in the Term Length section above.

  • How much does the program cost?

    The full program consists of 1 (one) 3 (three)-month long term at a cost of INR 10600.

  • I have graduated from the Programming for Data Science Nanodegree program and I want to keep learning. Where should I go from here?
    Check out our Data Analyst Nanodegree program to take the programming skills you have learned and apply them to real world Data Analyst business problems. Working on these more complex projects will deepen your knowledge of coding and make you a more attractive candidate to be hired as an data analyst.
    Software and Hardware - What Do I Need for This Program?
  • What software and versions will I need in this program?
    For this Nanodegree program you will need a 64-bit computer and access to the Internet. Additional software such as Python and its common data analysis libraries (e.g., Numpy and Pandas) will be used, but the program will guide students on how to download once the course has begun
    Payments
  • What is the refund policy?
    There is a 7 days no questions asked refund policy. Please go to your 'Settings' tab inside your classroom to cancel your Nanodegree enrolment and opt for a refund. The refund can take upto 10-15 days to credit back to the same account you made the payment from. For any concerns, please write to india@udacity.com The amount will be refunded back to the original mode of payment. Udacity will not be able to process your refund in a different bank account.
  • How do I get my invoice?
    Please write to india@udacity.com anytime after 7 days from the classroom start date. Your invoice request will be processed within 15 days.
